These days science does not come agenda free. In addition, science is not static and what’s known today is different than what was known 6 months ago. In my opinion this virus is burning itself out. Deaths from the virus (the counting of which has been liberally exaggerated) are dropping like IPIX’s volume. New “cases” that people use to instill fear are just people who test positive but aren’t sick and most of whom never need medical intervention. Survival rates for those under 50 are near 100%. The big fear last winter used to justify “shutting down” was that the health system would be overwhelmed, not that we needed to prevent the spread of the virus at any cost.
Everything has a cost. What if it was known that saving one person from Covid meant five dying from depression, drug overdose, or lack of medical treatment for other maladies like heart disease and stroke because someone decided keeping things closed and people isolated was the smart thing to do? To save lives.
Choices are being made.
