I wonder how the fact that the Flaskworks purchase was largely funded by the BOD themselves factors into that calculus. The counter-example you showed (re: leasing a facility) seems like the cost fell to shareholders (by an even more depressed PPS), but the Flaskworks purchase shows them putting their own money on the line (with whatever insights they might have on the trial data).
