Look, for example, at the very common trading mechanism (i.e. over and over) shown like:

where the price does NOT move at all for trade after trade. That means, in essence, I trade to you and you trade back to me holding the price at a value. Call it team trading just like passing the basketball around until the lane opens up for a shot! With small variations, the cost to do this is insignificant. Notice however the big trades where the high to low in a single bar occurs. The big boys dumped some shares there and went back to small volume trades holding the price. These folks are really crooked! People are being bled very skillfully!
