Correct. Outside of the trial, recurrent using recent lysate is likely helpful. Inside the trial, because they do not use recent lysate, late therapy initiation probably not helpful, except in a very limited number of circumstances. As Dr. Liau explained, most long term survivors are also progression free.

Yes I agree sharpie. If the cancer cells continue to mutate that will have antigens not present on the original tumor used to make the lystate used to sensitize the dendrtic cells. I did kno reals that Kat Charles used the 3rd resected tumor. I did think that they might want to do that if there was recurrence but didn't know they had done that. That is also what make DCVAX-Direct interesting in that they keep injected DCs into the tumor so if the tumor does mutate the DCs should pick up the new antigens. -Thanks for the info.
