I agree...but I just hope we are not moving too fast with the vaccines and putting people at risk for yet to be determine complications.

I think we need a vaccine else we wait out the storm for another year or so.

I am pulling for the Cambridge crowd with the monkey cough virus vaccine. I think that is most likely amongst the candidates floating around for a vaccine [very skeptical of Moderna]

We do not need it to get out to everybody. Once we have a vaccine we de-risk the future and can get back to normal. Still masks and distancing for a bit, but no fear of lockdowns

Ex I also think we need a vaccine but I like the phase 1 data from nvax. If I read it correctly mrna had fair amount of side effects. Just hope someone comes out with a safe and effective one.
Just some anecdotal data on covid. A co-worker his wife and daughter all had covid. The wife he took to a large nearby (2 hours away) city hospital and she spent 10 days on a ventilator. The husband (15 years older) spent his 14 days of quarantine putting a new roof on his house - said he had a sniffle. The daughter felt ill but nothing severe. Crazy how different the impacts can be.

Cambridge vaccine didn't work with the macaques. No reason why it should work in humans.
Your Govt has now thrown another $1.6B at a different candidate; namely Novavax.

The company had its IPO on Dec. 11, 1995. It opened at a (split-adjusted) price of $85 a share. Almost six years later, on Oct. 3, 2001, the stock hit its all-time high, at a (split-adjusted) price of $300 a share. Now the stock sits at just $4.31 a share. Imagine the unhappy investor out there who's sitting on losses of almost 99%. Novavax has caused a lot of financial agony to plenty of people.
This year, the stock has dropped all the way down to a micro-cap, valued at $106 million by the market. Earlier this year, Novavax had to do a 20-for-1 reverse split in order to keep its shares trading on the Nasdaq. More than 20% of its float is sold short.

That was last year. Some parallels with NWBO...

What a difference a year can make.
Now they have friends and backers in all the right places..
Gates, BARDA, CEPI. Novavax execs have been on BARDA, who run Operation Warp Speed.
