Trader, That is an interesting question. I have no idea if synthetic EPA would be a patent work around or not. I am not concerned about this drug as competition. Getting a cvb indication would take at least 10 to 15 years.

No, AMRN patents are for EE-EPA, not natural EPA, nor this new synthetic version - they're all different molecules. AFAIK we don't have any composition patents anyway, only method of use, else we wouldn't have lost the DC generic case - some claim it's because EE-EPA has been around long enough that it's not a patentable new invention.
