These crims were actually utilizing BTC in an appropriate way - verifiable escrowed funds, albeit for dark-web illegal drug-buying.

But whether the deal was financed with BTC or yankee-dollars, don't blame the currency.

Or the ability to use the currency peer-to-peer - that's a design-feature, not a crime.
