13 March 2003

3G service is being demonstrated by Samsung Electronics during the CeBIT 2003 at the company’s telecommunication booth. Here the visitor can experience not just 3G service demonstration but also the latest phones such as GPRS Phones, Smart phone and other next generation phones.

The demonstration will be made using the SGH-Z100, Samsung’s 3G UMTS mobile phone, which features the most advanced technology with GPRS Class 8, WAP, MMS and Java.

The SGH-Z100 includes a camcorder feature, which enables users to send the recorded moving pictures via MMS. It also supports video streaming and download play services through mobile phones faster than with other handsets, compared to 2G or 2.5G.

The Samsung SGH-Z100 mobile phone has a built-in rotating digital camera and a high-quality TFT colour screen that reproduces 260,000 different colour shades. It also features 40 polyphonic ring tones.

“Through our leading-edge technologies and extensive knowledge , Samsung Electronis is committed to provide everyone with the freedom from limitation of time and space in accessing all the services they want. This is true communication, which we expect from 3G,” said Sang Jin Park, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics.
