I am in the mode (not mood) of purchasing three desktop PC's for kids (High school and middle school), probably before Christmas. Does anyone know if there are any scheduled price breaks by intel or box makers that would offer a 'nice' price point to purchase these?

Is there any so-called bargaining ability with box makers (e.g. dell, gateway, micron etc.) that would induce them to give me some further cost savings? I don't anticipate buying kids any other PCs till they get into college -- three and four years from now.

Also, is there such a thing as "site license" for home use when purchasing something like microsoft office or msft office pro? It just doesnt seem right to have to cough up $400 X 3 for the family to use a word processor..
