Yes, but the general public is, on average, a Kardashian, and that mass-produced demographic of mouth-breathers want a vaccine...so *in my best Chris Farley impression* “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, just start calling B a Vaccine!”

They are only late if you believe covid will be gone soon. There will likely be plenty of covid patients available to test on when IPIX is ready. The only reason they haven't started a covid trial yet is lack of drug due to focusing on different dosing for other indications.
