In the podcast last week, The CEO said he wanted to give the stockholders the opportunity to make an investment in the company. As he pointed out, the company does not get any money from stockholders buying and selling in the stock market.
There is cost to the company for every stock issued so, often, the minimum buy-in considerably higher than the $500 minimum TPTW set. If TPTW can get some large institutional investors from this stock issue, great, but I think they intentionally made this affordable so all of their stockholders can invest if they want to.
