#3714 RE: MktMvn #3712

Thanks again and it’s great to learn things from folks that have the real world experience in the field.

I learned some good stuff from your posts, MPD and Low Effective Stress are just a couple.

Now I have a question on Low Effective Stress. Does the knowledge gained on T1 help them better plan the casing zones? In other words can they maybe push onward through a longer section and case it in one string rather than 2 or 3 to preserve the bore diameter for drilling deeper?

Or alternatively, would a different drill path (or strategy) be any help to avoid those issues? Is that what MPD does, managing the pressure better to avoid losses and reduce number of casing strings?

Another thing I’m curious about is the choice of drilling fluids between the traditional barite/water mud and synthetics. I see the EP lists both but I was wondering if they are used in different portions of the drilling phase or for different rock types, such as synthetic only when drilling the salt sections.
