Adaptive trials (not medicine) and precision medicine are not the same, but are somewhat related concepts. Adaptive trials employ deliberate (as opposed to circumstantial) modification of an ongoing treatment. Precision medicine is about pre-determining what should be proper treatment, based on biomarkers, etc. Both are relatively new concepts, in that drug researcher is employing them more often and more formally than they have in the past. And we are employing both. Will be great if it proves fruitful!
