#287368 RE: CogDiss 1188X #287316

The really harmful thing about this fiction piece on HCQ is that almost overnight, HCQ will have become unavailable to millions of Covid victims as a result. It was safe (even safer than old chloroquine), dirt cheap (every country could afford to use it), and I believe, effective at preventing mild to moderate symptoms escalating to severe.
Even our own Iwasadiver reported that his facility had stopped using it due to this paper (iirc). The paper was the culmination of a campaign of disinformation over the last month.

The NIH reported back in 2005 that Chloroquine was effective for the SARS virus and safe. So Fauci knew.
"Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread"

Chloroquine, a relatively safe, effective and cheap drug used for treating many human diseases including malaria, amoebiosis and human immunodeficiency virus is effective in inhibiting the infection and spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. The fact that the drug has significant inhibitory antiviral effect when the susceptible cells were treated either prior to or after infection suggests a possible prophylactic and therapeutic use.

They also suggested that CQ also reduced infectivity.

But in the last few weeks it has suddenly become unsafe and not effective....

Contrast that with the unapproved Remdesivir that seems to be getting the green light everywhere, with projections of revenue by 2022 of $7.7B...
And it is being talked up by Fauci (and the other AF). It failed a trial in China, the results were put in error by WHO, until Gilead got them taken down. And now they're fast tracking it from the US trial (which had a pretty meaningless endpoint) by ending it early before comprehensive data is available. But that sham trial would take ages to go into.

You may be aware that NEJM also published a Surgisphere paper on ACE inhibitors. That is also now widely viewed as fiction.
So now both the Lancet and the NEJM have had to publish 'expressions of concern' about the respective papers.
Both were supposed to have been peer reviewed..
Your comment; 'Blows a big hole in the confidence we should have in the peer-review process, if it wasn’t already shot.'
It was shot a long time back..
A musket ball, iirc (it was a long time ago...)

“Finding truth these days is as difficult as finding a virgin in California.”
Virgin on impossible, I would say..
(Not intended as a serious slur on California girls!)

There is one guy who is actually trying to wake up the US public.
Del Bigtree. He is too well known to be silenced, and doesn't have a medical career that can be destroyed.

I recommend all his videos from last couple of weeks.
(In one, he neatly points out that the most commonly used flu vaccine in the US has a higher mortality rate than Covid!)

Finally, as I've been saying a while now, in a video from today Prof Karl Friston takes a view that in many populations across the world, up to 80% are simply not susceptible to Covid.
