I have my system set up to not install these updates automatically, but to ask me first. I can't remember how I set this up, but perhaps, like you, I am simply delaying the installation of these updates, I'm not sure.

Yes, I also am running some programs MS didn't like, so I installed them working in DOS (these are very old programs from back in the 80's and 90's that I have used for years with accumulated data I don't want to lose, such as Quicken 1 and 2, and DB3) and they run just fine. I learned DOS on my first computer back in the 80's but have forgotten a lot of it now.

Luckily my system is back to normal after doing a "reset to a previous version" in Recovery, but I'd still like to find out how to choose which updates to install from the lists I get rather than only "all or none" as it is now. Let me know if you find out anything. TIA
