The mine will be built for several reasons:
1. National Security...metals such as rhenium are vitally needed by
the US military. All of the metals contained will make the US
stronger and insure its economic independence far into the future.
2. The government will insure that NAK (or whoever acquires it) will
get the road access that is required. This is why the government
has the power of eminent domain and why easements must be allowed.
This is how an economy prospers...road networks are required for
commerce. George Washington build a road through his vast land
holdings in order to unlock the value. The State of Alaska will
make certain that this mine is not only build, but that it will
be expanded when the time comes.
3. Big mining companies have financial, economic, and political
clout. They will get the job done. Gold is useless until it
it has a vible plan to get it out.
The market is telling us right now that the mine will happen. Too much
value at stake for the dark forces to keep it from happening.
