UnitedHealth backs wellness-tech startup Rally Health

So now the hope is that a big healthcare/pharma or tech company is going to pour a bunch of money into QMC to back HealthID? Seriously?

No. It's a strawman that doesn't address the question asked at all:

Why any company would go with QMC's HealthID when highly reputable and credible companies like these can build it better-faster-cheaper?

It's even more of a strawman given the first line in the article cited:

UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s Optum unit is backing a startup launched by a couple high-profile tech executives.

Now maybe if the article said UHC was out backing companies that hadn't done anything in the past decade, stopped filing required financials, were getting sued by school districts, forfeited their right to transact business in the state where they operate, etc...

FACTS MATTER

"Ever hear of the start up Rally health?"

Yes Rally Health was the startup created by Grant Verstandig in DC.

The company's CEO is Grant Verstandig, who founded Audax Health and sold it to UnitedHealth.

So the CEO had previously created a successful startup, Audax, and sold a majority stake in the company to UnitedHealth in 2014.

So when Grant, with a proven track record, created Rally Health he got financial backing from UnitedHealth in 2015, no surprise.

Then UnitedHealth ended up also buying out Rally Health.

In April 2007 Grant became Chief Digital Officer of UnitedHealth and is currently Co-Founder & Executive Chairman at Epirus.
