European allies are so happy to see the way we are dealing with China. Do not forget, we have much deep footing in China since 1978.

It only happens in consumer luxury goods, not in industrial goods. Also, we ban so many high tech goods to sell to China. Looking BA vs Airbus, GE vs others………

yes
and it is the free flow of goods and capital needed to increase the wealth of the globe

some wealth leaves Europe and USA

but we can recapture with more markets and higher value goods

but you likely know that

those who think the USA should go back to the good old days of horrible working conditions and low pay for low value manufacturing are either dumb or dumber

note - see cars -- whose manufacture went to Japan but their wages went up and then off to Korea and then BACK TO THE USA with automation - that did leave us needing one worker where we 30 years earlier we needed 5

Same with steel
We produce huge amounts of steel - huge
But we use tech and mini mills and focus on specialty steel - this liberal dem is explaining that is the way a free market works

we need a ton more education and training in the next 10-20 years

we - agreed that the public paid school went through 12 grades - about 70 or more years ago! I am not for free college but why not free or super subsidized 2 year tech colleges that increase our normal and vocational knowledge and skills ? why does GOV picking up the tab still stop at 12th grade and 18 like it did in say 1930?
