My personal experience with this phenomenon was as a youth I worked with migrants from Mexico and further South. They were very rarely sick compared to people born in the U.S. At the time, since they were working in the U.S., I suspected their own diets were better, but now I lean toward their BCG vaccines from childhood being the primary reason.
