I don't understand what "settlement" even means, or in what context everyone keeps using the word.

The court found our patents invalid. That creates rights for anyone who wants to come in and file for an ANDA and sell generic Vascepa.

What do people here think a settlement with Hikma is going to get us? Overturning of the judgment? No... which means anyone (Teva?) can get an ANDA approval and compete with us (subject to our appeal with Hikma on the invalidated patents).

Will someone please explain what "settlement" means w/r to Hikma as the word is so flagrantly being thrown around?

I'm a transactional attorney so I don't have enough knowledge about the litigation side but have asked about this before to get only crickets (there they are again) in return.
