I'm not saying we didn't need to do social distancing, hospitals definitely would have been overwhelmed - but it's not clear to me that patients who were intubated had superior outcomes to those who only used supplemental O2 and didn't need to stay in the hospital. Also starting to see some disturbing news that the HCQ+Z-pak therapy may actually not be doing anything - despite the lack of control groups in many trials, if viral loads start dropping upon the start of the treatment how can you say they've not working? And the theory of how HCQ works against CV-19 being the same reason it works for malaria is scientifically correct from what I've read, by preventing the virus from damaging RBC's and the cascade of events that occur when that happens. However, it does appear that those French studies were so flawed that their results are basically useless - they cherry picked data and patients weren't very sick to start with.
