Lunatic~I have Scottrade. I called them. First girl never heard of it and transfered me to someone who seemed more knowledgable. She acted a little annoyed like it was a stupid question and told me I am automatically on the NOBO list.. however.. I've also read a couple of posts here that incl. this email response from Scottrade ~
Any and all shares held in any Scottrade
account are held in streetname (Scottrade's name for the benefit of the
client), not the individual client's name. Your name would not be on
the NOBO list. Scottrade's name is on the list representative of our
clients' holdings.

For your specific name to be on the list, you would need to request
physical certificates registered in your name to be delivered out of
your account.

Physical certificates can be requested by calling your local branch
office. There is a $50 fee per certificate and receipt can take 4 to 6
weeks depending on the transfer agent for the stock in question.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Kevin E. Kohler
National Service Center Broker
Scottrade, Inc.

Lunatic~ FillTheGap ~ post #22103 ~ I THINK it's reassuring?? ~
From the header on the NOBO LIST iHUB board...
-----------------
The NOBO/OBO System The names of the ultimate beneficial owners of street name shares - i.e., the customers of the brokers and banks who have deposited the shares with DTC - are maintained by the brokers and banks, not by companies themselves. Recognizing that this
system left companies without direct contact with a large
proportion of their beneficial owners, the Commission adopted
rules in 1983, which went into effect in 1986, requiring
brokers and banks to provide companies with lists of "nonobjecting beneficial owners" (or "NOBOs") who did not object to
having their names and addresses supplied to companies.
--------------
This seems to confirm what the National Scottrade office told me today...namely that "unless you specifically request NOT to be on the NOBO list, you are, by DEFAULT, ON the NOBO list.

Repost

Yep we all got that email from Scottrade. Call your local office and you will get one of Three answers from the window watchers collecting a paycheck:

1) "You are already on the NOBO list by default"
2) "Fax in your request to be listed on the NOBO"
3) "I do not know what your talking about"

These are the three I'm aware of as of this morning.

Now, with that being said I got response #2 when I called. The "broker" I spoke with also seemed a bit pre-occupied with feeding the office goldfish and just told me what I wanted to hear I believe. So, my suggestion, call tomorrow, ask for a supervisor, let them know you want to request that your name be listed on the NOBO for PYPR. I plan on calling everyday until they tell me " Your on the list, please stop calling" :)
