The mortality rate is nowhere close to 25%. It looks that way because the recoveries lag the deaths by about 2 weeks. The longer this goes, the lower the mortality rate will look as the recoveries will vastly outweigh the deaths. We should expect a monstrous portion of the over 1M world cases to recover.

Nobody actually knows the denominator of total cases. All the young asymptomatic people or light symptoms are not being tested or counted.

Case in point... a woman in her 20s said that her boyfriend from NYC brought it to her in Cabo where she is staying. She ran through the it already and is better but no one would test her for covid because she wasn’t even close to serious enough. ... I’m sure this is all over the place. (She did get a test that ruled out the flu.)

Until they can do randomized testing and figure out the denominator, we have a much too high death rate being pushed on the public.
