That's the point. And neither does your president. Those simple ventilators, even those used for outpatient surgergy may help you to make it into a hospital but then you will need one of those very complicated heart lung ventilators which can be adapted to any patient and current state of your sickness. Believe me, my daughter and son in law are handling such a thing, you need training and skills for it and you need desperately the device. Trump tried to buy all he could from Dräger and this real elitist responsible ceo showed him literally the finger. His machines are going to all who need them not even Germany first but for sure not to a single country.

I've seen it done often enough on Chicago Med and Fire, pretty sure I could do it.

Plus…..written instructions. Portable defibrillators have voice instructions. Wouldn't be surprised if intubation gear had them too.

Well, my point I guess is that not all patients experiencing respiratory distress rise to the level of needing intubation.

Machines like the Bird Mark 10 could relieve the load, and maybe take care of patients who's needs don't rise above needing a nasal cannula or mask.

Maybe some of those machines have been sitting a long time, but they're even easier to overhaul than a Marvel Schebler tractor carburetor.

I was a volunteer in the Candy Striper program in the Repiratory Therapy section at Swedish-American in Rockford. And no, I didn't get to wear the little red and white dress. I worked down in the shop breaking those machines down, clean, sterilize, put them together and test them.
