In response to a question about the coronavirus and viral infections, the CEO talks about how QMDT's technology can disinfect and provide antimicrobial protection to surfaces and personal protection equipment/textiles. He makes this interesting statement: "there’s been a lot of interest from our partners in generating a face mask that is antimicrobial in nature."
Not your everyday jersey fabric, this comes with antimicrobial finishing called Stay Fresh® . The antimicrobial finishing is environmentally friendly. It gives fabric brighter colors, whiter whites.
"Stay Fresh® Antimicrobial has excellent durability. It imparts durable antimicrobial activity to the surface of a wide variety of substrates. Stay Fresh® Antimicrobial suppresses the growth of algae, mold, mildew, fungi and bacteria which cause unpleasant odors, discoloration, staining, deterioration and corrosion."
The Anti-microbial finishing we use is called Stay Fresh which has been proven to suppress growth of bacteria, mold and fungi that causes odor, stain and discoloration. When you use fabric with anti-microbial finishing, as long as it is washed correctly, it is expected to be effective even after 50 washes. We have black cotton jersey fabric with anti-microbial finishing in stock and anti-microbial masks ready to sample. Anti-microbial is quick drying, easy to wash and wrinkle resistant. It is very durable. While we don’t make claims that it will prevent COVID-19, it just lessens the risk of contracting it. Every effort made is never wasted. It is believed thorough studies that the virus can last in droplets for up to 3 hours after it has been coughed out. So with special finishes on face mask, they provide added barrier against the droplets that is so small - about 30 times smaller than the width of human hair.

Very recently they have boosted mass production of custom face mask in response to Covid-19 pandemic. “Due to high demand, we can manufacture 350,000 pieces a week of face mask in any content, stitch and finishing you require. We have the fabric in stock ready to cut for your requirement. The idea is to offer a basic everyday mask with comfort and function in mind. We also offer antimicrobial face masks with the added protection against odour, discolouration, and bacteria growth,” Bobby Omrany, CEO at California Textile Group, said in a press release.
