Absolutely. I suspect that things will be back to normal within a week, once the "novelty and dire necessity" of hoarding tapers off.

Everyone here knows my age, but I was not so inclined to take the perks offered by the store management to get "senior early access" to the grocery store this morning. There were those much more in need of such an assist than I, so I stood in line with the "regular people".

I particularly felt so bad to hear an 80 year old woman ask the clerk if they had any toilet paper and was told "no". By the look on her face I could tell she was down to her last roll.

Honestly, it is so sad to see how depraved and selfish people become in a situation in which calmer heads must prevail.

The only behavioral change I personally have implemented is the 6 foot rule which I vehemently enforce and the care to sanitize my hands, door knobs and car door handles fairly zealously.

Taking deep breaths to prevent rage at others rude and selfish behaviors keeps me from becoming combative.

Perhaps, because I am a combat veteran, I am appalled at the lack of discipline I am seeing in others. I only hope that no firearms are pulled out by the offended and impatient during a national need for calm.
