Honest question .... does this investment action make the cash easier for LI to get to if/when something bad (don't want to say the word) happens ?

What are the reasons for the "investments" .... surly the few interest related dollars are only one possibility for taking the action which also appears to have been done in secret from the shareholders.

Why am I feeling more and more like a $2 .........
