If company 'A' is going to spend millions on a new product using the IP of company 'B' they send in the Lawyers and Technical Experts to examine the heck out of every aspect.

One of the important take aways from this DD is that BIEL, even with abrasive AW in charge, passed Bayer's/Dr. Scholl's extensive DD investigations. Bayer wanted a Licensing Deal, AW said no.

If BIEL can pass Bayer's DD they can clear the DD of any other potential Partner.
