nidan - Unfortunately, I think you may be on to something with your speculation of a coming takeover/buyout attempt from BIIB. I have to believe Buffet's organization did enough homework to be well aware of AVXL and a strategy was probably discussed extensively with BIIB prior to their investment being placed. Frankly, at this point, I think most BP's are very well aware of Anavex.
Timing wise, I think this attempt would come before the PDD readouts as the price of poker could go up astronomically after that, assuming positive results. I can only hope their buyout attempt spurs a bidding war resulting in a much better price from a larger BP that would also be a much better match as far as corporate cultures.
I truly hope this doesn't come to pass as I believe TGD has a wonderful plan ( partner on the major indications, etc. ) that would make AVXL a true BP itself in not that many years. I guess we'll have to see how those preferred shares work out.
