All,
It’s been a positive news-filled few days.
Recently the US Army Corps of Engineers distributed for co-operating agency internal consideration only, the preliminary Final Environmental Impact Statement (P-FEIS). But last week the Executive Summary (ES) of that document was leaked to the media and both Northern Dynasty and the Pebble Partnership issued new releases discussing the key findings of this very important document.

The Executive Summary of the P-FEIS is here
Northern Dynasty’s news release discussing its important findings is here.

Bottom Line: We believe the P-FEIS clearly shows that Pebble is a project of merit that can co-exist with the clean water and fisheries resources of southwest Alaska and also provide a very positive socio-economic platform for the region. For those reasons and more we will be issued a positive Record of Decision at the conclusion of the rigorous EIS process which the Corps continues to target as mid-2020.

Additionally:
An op-ed authored by Pebble Partnership CEO, entitled “Rush to judge Corps’ work on Pebble EIS is unfounded” was published in the Anchorage Daily News. It is here.
The Anchorage Daily News’ balanced coverage of the P-FEIS release “Pebble sees signs in new federal report that mine will secure key approval” is here.
The Commissioner of Alaska’s Department of Natural Resources, Corri Feige, sent Tom Collier a very encouraging letter. It is attached to this email.

Bottom Line: We believe that Alaskan sentiment towards Pebble is moving in the right direction. We note for example, that for the first time in years the November 2020 Alaskan ballot will not have an openly anti-Pebble ballot initiative on it for voter consideration.
