I think there are a fair amount of State Medicaid plans across the country that have Generic Lovaza on a prior auth and they have to have failed fibrates and /or niacin. I think that is where some of disconnect lies.
Sharinky - You are correct. We still have an uphill battle. In Wisconsin the medicaid formulary has Fibrates and Niacin as preferred with NO PA It has Lovaza as Preferred with a PA It has Vascepa as NOT preferred and requires a PA
So despite overwhelmingly being the best drug we are on the bottom of the heap in terms of ease of prescribing!
