I have spoken to many brokers over the years and very snoopy so I can say although you can't look up either way online mm's admit to the practice on pennies it is why they trade them they are at risk too if someone bankrupts but they do offer liquidity and it would not run without them

If enough shares are locked low enough under .03 they may make shorts cover by end of day....

Time will tell. Not so much selling as everyone has shares locked hmmm.....
