Jeffkad, "Bingo." Keep in mind that at some point AMRN may also
have the replacement for Vascepa which Mochida is testing
which I think is a one a day version which does not need
to be taken with fat. In the unlikely event AMRN loses
to the generics, maybe AMRN would roll out the Mochida
version earlier than planned (assuming that is even possible)
and only roll it out in Europe when it loses exclusivity.

I have always maintained that Vascepa is not going to be an "ideal generic drug"...Typical generic strategy is to undercut the brand price. H-W allows brand drugs to charge high prices based on the theory that they should be reimbursed for the costs of their research and development of the drug and the costs of the FDA "Marketing Process"...

At present time the only "special sauce for generics is they sell for less than the brand does. The interdiction provides no preference for the generics..the advantage goes to the least expensive. Since JT is always reminding us V is a volume play and not a price play..The real question is could Amarin sell V for less than the Generics (if an unexpected decision favoring the generics was announced)..Well Sam Walton I believe would find a way..and I believe JT could also..

I see the API suppliers being key to the strategy..G might weigh in on this..Right now Amarin has the suppliers..Volume is also key for the suppliers..The idea is to hold onto your big customers (big accounts).
Amarin will be in a better negotiating position. So the question is if Amarin foregoes the usual price increases due them do to R&D and FDA marketing... can they produce and sell V at a price that would not be possible for the generics to match and make money..."Fast nickel beat slow dimes"..Think walmart... not the local department store.
