These people talking about Boeing “lying” have no clue.
Boeing made a series of bad decisions. These bad decisions (both in systems engineering and then in ignoring the concerns of conscientious employees) eventually led to loss of life.
Their rush to bring the aircraft into service, put safety on the back burner, and beat out opponent Airbus was not right and should never have happened.
But when the facts became public, Boeing accepted responsibility for that loss of life. This is terrible but once “the bullet leaves the barrel”, you can’t call it back.
Boeing isn’t “lying” about anything now and is doing everything possible to make sure the aircraft can safely be brought back into service.
