Everyone has an agenda whether it be I vote for no one on the 1rst ballot, I don't like this guy or that, it is humans voting hence it is flawed. When you get 400 or so people voting on something at random there is bound to be a couple of people with outliar crazy theories. It really is that simple.
The reason why mariano got 100% is because nobody could debate he was the best at his position. period. simple as that. No other player can really say that as easily as mariano hence why he is the only gyuy to get 100%. Now I think it really should be simple is the guy a HOF or isn't he. And if you want to complicate it further is he a 1rst ballot Hof or is he a guy who needs to wait, the wait guy for me are guy who are borderline such as Larry walker for example, the process worked perfectly for a guy like him. But others it works absurdly, like how Albert Belle Fell off the ballot, that was an example of the process working like garbage, people didn't like the guy so he got no love when he had perhaps one of the most impressive decades of success a hitter has put together in the modern era, yes he was that dominant, how this guy didn't even stay on the ballot is baffling to me. But he didn't have the most likeable personality apparently and he was done in by it. All is just my opinion of course.
