Small towns live on the edge, even though they may seem unexciting. Unless they grow, young people will leave to find more opportunity elsewhere. That will only accelerate the town's decline. What helps is if a new, fairly big employer arrives. Or if the suburbs begin to move into rural areas.

Why do they want people to donate deer hides?

Welp, many high executives start in the mail room at William Morris Talent Agency before representing $20/year million actors.

I had to work the mail room for 30 days before my license transferred over. NASD rules. I was to trade in the fixed income department making $600,000 per year. But I worked as an assistant in the equity trading room while waiting my time.

I took a haircut, but the fixed income room could put a dead horse to sleep.

Joan Kroc was the largest shareholder of MCD after Ray passed. She was Ray's secretary, but practically ran MCD.

On a different note, dear spouse's admin. assist. has no degree, makes $90K/Yr plus $27,000 in Cadillac insurance and Xmas bonus. Dear spouse has no say in her pay. And she complains she doesn't make enough. All she does is stuff and stamp envelopes. While Kroc practically ran MCD, this woman makes with benefits $150,000 year for doing nothing.
