" One or both may have been affected by the fires "--for sure things have been affected---I pointed this out awhile ago---can't be "business as usual" down under----hopefully we are not affected too badly !!

Missling Failed to Put Out the Fires

Let me get it out first, before the Missling-is-the-problem people do.

Much of SE Australia is being utterly and completely consumed by drought-induced conflagrations. Entire landscapes, including cities, are being burned down to the red earth. No way to stop these fires. I know a good bit about wildfires. I’m a certified prescribed fire manager in my state. I plan and conduct prescribed fires in hundreds of acres of native forest and prairie for a federal agency. I understand the unique interplay of winds, fuels, and flame fronts in escaped landscape fires.

Simply, after decades of prohibited fires, fuels (dropped leaves, twigs, dead trees, etc.) in Australian forests are “tinder boxes.” Well, far worse. They support explosive expansions of any fire that first starts. (Many or most of the Australian fires were apparently started by arsonists.)

In pre-European times, just as did North American Indians, Australian Aboriginals frequently set their forests and grasslands on fire, safely consuming the moderate accumulations of dead vegetative fuels on forest floors. With those small ground fires, fuels did not accumulate; giant conflagrations were obviated. (Same phenomena in our American West — another story; the primary cause of major forest fires in recent decades.)

Ok, then, if major sites for clinical studies of blarcamesine against Parkinson’s Disease Dementia are in SE Australia, fully ablaze, might there then be reduced or delayed enrollment?

We’ve heard it before. It’s Missling’s fault. As CEO, he needs to see ahead and get everything properly arranged so that clinical trials start promptly, run properly, without delays of any sort. Very clearly, he didn’t hire some fire fighters, on the Anavex payroll, to keep all of this from happening Down Under. Biogen and Pfizer CEOs woulda had that worked out, wouldn’t they have?
