Lady Mountbatten is not just a member of the royal family, but one of the closest companions of both the Queen and Prince Philip. Known informally as Penny, the Countess is the only daughter of butcher-turned-businessman Reginald Eastwood and she joined the royal family through her relationship with Norton Knatchbull, 3rd Earl of Mountbatten. Penelope was an immediate hit with the royals, but particularly impressed the Queen and Philip when she was first introduced by Norton in 1975; a royal insider remembered her as "one of the most natural young women I have ever met, outgoing but not brash or flirty."
Lady Penny Mountbatten has thirty years experience in luxury brand representation and event management. She works with over forty top British retailers and luxury hotels, assisting in the execution of their market entry strategies. Her focus is almost entirely on China and she regularly hosts events in the top tier cities, giving presentations and organising events for British brands. With a large network of influential contacts and partners, Penny consistently facilitates opportunities by connecting people and businesses who are looking for investment and distribution.

In the UK, she is committed to guiding each British school, university, luxury brand and hotel to become ‘China ready', advising them on their marketing and the acceptance of Chinese digital payment methods.

Penny is also an Ambassador for some Royal Warranted brands and represents the world renowned Royal portrait artist, Ralph Heimans. As a hands-on Patron of four charities, Penny participates in many fundraising events as well as championing sustainable and organic brands and causes.

Penny is now working closely with Branding Shanghai, an organisation committed to promoting Shanghai and China internationally while at the same time working to bring British culture and brands into China. Together with Branding Shanghai, Penny believes they can bridge the cultures of China and the UK and build upon the strong relationship that already exists between the two countries.
