Where did you get “can’t afford to pay” from this? See, like most investors, the CEO understands that a salary won’t make you rich.. only investing does this.. and by paying himself in shares of his own company he’s investing in his own success. Why not take the cash if he thought it would fail or break even? Clearly he believes his efforts will net a gain on the shares he opted to receive as payment. Imo
