Point being if 69 authors couldn’t convince even a journal to publish a paper , it will have no influence on FDA to approve a biologic which is magnitudes of order bigger deal . It will be approved or not on merit of the TLD . So people keep bringing up that 69 author argument is ridiculous .
I have several friends who have published in tier 1 journal .

That sounds exactly correct. I recall a company with incredible results in animals for MS. They talked about a major publication for a few years worth of comments. And jealous other researchers were constantly attacking. One tried to reverse engineer, duplicate and patent the IP used for the treatment and was largely successful at delaying publication as his University largely facilitated the theft.

Crazy stuff happens in academia and with medical and scientific research. Read Craig Venters biography on decoding the human genome. Insanity is a regular occurrence, lots of politics, sabotage and credit stealing.
