NRDC is world class fake bias news. They are funded by the Elite cult liberals who enjoy power and control. Northern Dynasty is faced with this green cult on a daily basis, however the Mine will be built with or without their support, the Rule of Law prevails.

*Revised/Props.to.Stargazer*-->The article is pure unadulterated BS

"Governor Walker was right about the Pebble Mine"
March 8, 2019 by Bruce Switzer
https://alaskalandmine.com/landmines/guest-post-governor-walker-was-right-about-the-pebble-mine/

Anglo, Rio, and Mitsubishi, by 2014 abandoned Pebble without retaining any interest in the deposit [because they knew that the deposit was worthless]. Along with Cominco, they spent around seven hundred million dollars learning it was not viable. [That is why they abandoned Pebble.]

No senior mining company has shown the least interest except for Quantum Minerals. After a brief flirtation with Northern Dynasty even they backed out.

All this time Northern Dynasty soldiered on with public relations shills – who wouldn’t know a trailer hitch from a frontend loader – complaining about environmentalists and the EPA for blocking a “world class” development – even the Trump EPA.
(Me??? Northern Dynasty has not complained about the Trump EPA.)

Northern Dynasty routinely exaggerates benefits and employment projections. (??? Pebble will have great benefits for Alaska, as well as high +$100,000 paying jobs. *This part erased*.) Their mine plans won't work because they don't go into detail about the infrastructure, such as for power and access. They say their mine will withstand the earthquakes that can occur in the area [there is no way to know that], and that they won't use cyanide, until they do.

They say that their mine will be environmentally friendly and will not harm the salmon, [but that can not be quarantined] because they refuse to talk about the real risks. Risks like dam failure, of which the company designing the Pebble tailings dam has had three disastrous failures since 2000.
(Me, but this has been shown not to be the fault of the company designing the mines, but the companies refusing to follow the design plans. Hmmm, this author doesn't mention that.)

Northern Dynasty did not do risk analysis of the inevitable road spills, blocked culverts, inevitable mine expansion with use of cyanide and therefore mercury release, acid mine drainage, fuel spills, accidents and so on.

{As the author must know, Northern Dynasty has discussed how it will manage these difficulties, and there is no need to use cyanide. The author must know that advances in separating metals from ore have shown that 97% of the metal can be extracted without the use of cyanide, saving the cost of the use of cyanide, and therefore, there will never be a need for the use of cyanide.)

Good post Stargazer I agree 100%
