Chantix has insane potential side effects, listen to the disclaimer at the end of its tv commercials, I can't see how it was really ever approved. And vaping doesn't seem to be any sort of solution, aren't people winding up in bad shape from vaping? So that leaves gum and VLN and gum gives no smoking satisfaction.
My personal story is that I was a pack a day smoker (mostly Marlboros, then unfiltered Camels) for about 12 years, until I was almost 30. When I quit, I found that, physically, it wasn't a problem, I had no withdrawals, but I also found that it was more of a habit than physical addiction. A smoke after a meal, while on the phone, going for a walk, to sit and think about something, before bed, etc. - that was the difficulty, what to do otherwise in those circumstances, it was a psychological addiction.
So VLN it is. You can look cool like those people in the movies and on tv (check out Russian Doll, on NetFlix, for example, the star smokes continuously), have something to do with your hands, and not wind up in old age breathing through a tube inserted into your throat.
