The biggest hints of AMRN BO talk are no Euro partner so far, NVS takeover of MDCO and most importantly the Baker Brother's need to unload AMRN without market impact.

I like this. Let's get our full conspiracy theory on!!!

Let's say it is GILD they've been talking to... so...

1) GILD is headquartered in SF -- same place the JPM conference is this year. You'd be there anyhow in mid-Jan.

2) GILD has a pretty weak cardio profile at the moment -- certainly no blockbusters out there, and so from a salesforce staff you might be able to conclude there are synergies there -- the kind where a merger wouldn't result in mass layoffs (probably just selective ones)

3) If you did want to keep ramping up while talking buyout, you could keep hiring but more selectively and specifically -- something like "Cardiometabolic Sales Professional" in key markets (those where GILD doesn't really have existing coverage in this area?)

4) GILD has a huge cash hoard right now and has been suffering from revenue stream deterioration in recent years. Feels like a bolt-on product is a perfect fit for their profile.

5) GILD CEO is Daniel O'Day... which is so stereotypically Irish it's almost laughable. And we're Irish!!! You know how the Irish are... they are thicker as thieves than the Italians!!!

So it's a lock. BO by GILD. Where is marzan? He needs to lock this in for Monday morning.
