Berry. Thx for the reply
My wife is a PA in Renal ... spends most of her days in dialysis clinics
She also runs the screening for kidney transplants at the largest hospital in Nth Ca
I would be interested in your opinion on Tenapanor ... a drug recently developed to address the issue we were discussing .
Regarding Vascepa for her patients . Over 60 % maybe even as high as 80% meet the on label specifications . The problem is insurance coverage and inertia on the part of dept head .
Dept head typical needs to go to a CKD conference and have a co like Amarin present ... then returns and issues a command ( often to my wife !) ... “ identify all patients that fit this profile and prescribe them etc
Hyperkalemia drugs were typical of this process . I had invested in CO’s working on this problem , drugs worked , got approved ... but wife was still not prescribing them
Why I asked her ... Because Head of Dept needs to go to conference ... etc . Now she prescribes Veltassa where needed .
No sales reps allowed in her hospital ... so hopefully Amarin will present at CKD conferences in the near future .
I post on other boards so would appreciate an answer re Tenapanor if you care to respond there .. You seem to be “ on the floor “ ... ie dialysis floor . If so ... much respect
