Monica, I just received this note from my friend. This may clear things up...or not!

" FYI, the assets owned by WAMU INC are 307b, consisting of 241.5b that resided in the famous loan portfolio and the the rest in cash ,cash equivalents and other types of assets, the remainder of the 617b are recorded assets, but not owned because WAMU was the servicer.
WMI’s assets reside in the 241.5b portfolio and all calculation are based on it."
