Butt, the rules do allow a little flexibility - you can make up your own compound words and make them as long and with as many elements as you want. No upper bound.
The Germans argued and CONtemplated for a long time before deciding to gradually move from the 'capital beta' for the 'ss' sound to jussed using two lowercase esses "ss" instead.
