Assuming I'm not just trading the stock, I get out either when the stock is properly valued or when the fundamentals change for the worse.

AtomOaks, I think there are very few people who should be genuinely trading single-name stocks, just like there are very few people who should be cage fighting, cliff diving, or playing professional poker.

The brain, temperament, and discipline required to be good at any of those things is pretty rare in combination. And even for those who have a nice run -- due to a combination of partial good judgment and luck -- it very often ends up falling down on them in the end.

I for one do not have enough of ANY of those three things to trade effectively. I have a lifetime track record that viscerally demonstrates that I didn't belong in this ring. AMRN is my "blind squirrel" moment, and even with this, I have played the trading aspects of it VERY badly. The only thing that saved me -- left me with a nice nut still intact at this point -- was that I was really reckless in how I got myself exposed up front. I had so much gravy that even f'ing it up I was ok.

My advice to people on this board is not to play -- and if you can't resist it, only play with a wad that you can really afford to lose ALL of.

How can I create FUD without making it too obvious, as I do in most of my posts? By stating this:

I am discovering that I am much more profitable getting out while I am ahead and so it's frustrating when the only advice I get is to 'buy and hold.'

Translation: you Amarin shareholders should sell while you're ahead.

Atom. There are some stocks that buy and hold has worked well

Look at AMZN for instance ... the last 10 yrs

Anyone that bt AMRN after the Anchor trial results in 2011 ... and held ... are just breaking even now ... something some of those post 2013 Adcom buyers tend to ignore
