I deal with a lot of diabetic patients with CV disease & I don't think I've ever seen a patient on Vascepa but a large percentage are taking OTC fish oil. This is why I think AMRN needs to be sold to large pharma even if the buyout is for a much lower price then most want.

Better yet....assuming your friend’s doctor is an endocrinologist or diabetologist...all he needs to do is show the ADA’s Vascepa standard of care statement. If that fails...time for a change in “personnel”

Like Captain Willard going after Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now, that person you spoke with, needs to "terminate his doctor with extreme prejudice." There is simply no excuse for the doctor's ignorance and insolence.

It is not the patient's duty to stay on top of the latest advances. It is the doctor's duty, and the doctor's inexcusable failure to do so, should result in that doctor's termination, as the doctor's stupidity and/or arrogance has potentially deadly consequences.
