Thats a great trio to learn from...the three M's that is. Other than my room, growing up, we didn't have a lot of music inside the house. But we did listen to music in the car...I was in the car alot with my dad....and he liked to listen to a light Jazz/Great American Songbook with DJ William B Williams on WNEW. Thats where I became a fan of the big three crooners, Arthur Prysock, Joe Williams, and Billy Eckstine. I got a chance to see Williams and Ecktine live.
And I luvd Billy Taylor... got to know him for the many pieces he did on the Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt show. He seemed like a very special person.
