#12879 RE: DarthYoda #12873

IMO there are simply too many financial institutions that want full legalization because they want in on the business, too many municipalities that want in on the tax revenues, a law enforcement community that wants decriminalization so they can devote resources to other things, prison reform advocates who want non-violent pot-heads out of prison, states that run prisons wanting to alleviate costs and overcrowding by kicking out the pot-heads, along with 62% of Americans favoring legalization.

The more congress people are asked about this, the more they realize it's a losing issue to remain opposed to it. The odds on percentages are the longer they resist the will of the people, the more likely they will be voted out.

IMO, the reason we'll have full nationwide legalization within 10 years is the staunchest naysayers will be retiring, dying, or voted out.

The percentage of the remainder who are on Capitol Hill liked in the past, or want to start (or restart) smoking dope, or eating edibles or beverages ... NOW.

Those representatives will dominate both houses.

If the Dems take both houses in 2020, IMO it's a veto proof slam dunk fait accompli.
